The tragic fire in Israel's Carmel Mountains brought together a consortium of humanitarian agencies, and Hazon Yeshaya was proud to be among them.
We wanted to tell you that we delivered thousands of meals to the emergency workers who were working to extinguish the flames, and to families who had been evacuated, and who returned to find their homes in ashes.

Serving hot meals to Israeli Fire Fighters
Hazon Yeshaya delivered food to fire fighters and evacuees in the Carmel Mountains area affected by the huge forest fires in December 2010.

Our soup kitchens in Jerusalem and Rishon LeTzion pulled out all the stops to produce thousands of extra hot meals for delivery to the affected areas. Many donors stepped in to help us- we thank you for your rapid response.
 
Our work is not over yet! Our assistance is needed a little while longer, until things get back to some normalcy.
 
All the while, we are still performing our normal 'routine' work of feeding poor and hungry children, the sick and the elderly, throughout Israel, running our free dental clinics and training the unemployed to find work. You won't see these people on the international news, but their plight is also desperate.
 
We thank you for your ongoing support, and hope to share better news in Israel and around the world during 2011.
